ARCHIVEThere is as yet no catalogue of the materials suitable for publication.
The Archives of the Abbey are in principle the pivate record of the Community's life and administration,
but they do include some material on Catholic and monastic history since the sixteenth century, and some records
of the school since its arrival in 1803. See also the items mentioned below, left & right.

or we have received permission to publish.
SERIAL TITLES This gives the title and
code for every periodical title of which we have at least some issues. Few are held complete:
for details ask the Library.
LATELY DEAD
This list gives the names of those who have died, whom the Abbey has included in the Community's prayers on hearing the news.
Note: Sometimes we do not know the date. This list is limited by data protection. Changed June 2018
DIED
This is the old list (before GDPR), the names of those, whom the Abbey has included in the Community's prayers on news of their death.
Note: In some cases we did not have a date of death.
MUSIC OF ALAN RIDOUT Ridout, the composer,
was an Oblate of the Abbey, and left us most of his manuscripts. The list given is complete, but we do not
possess every item, nor some of the rights: details from the
Archivist.
RAINFALL AT AMPLEFORTH
Records of rainfall were kept for much of the twentieth century, and we have recently resumed
(in an amateur way) to help, perhaps, future engineers looking at the stability of our site.
STUDENTS BEFORE 1900
The Student lists before 1865 are derived literally from contemporary memories.
After that there is some written record, but it is not likely to be much fuller or more reliable.
